That's because CMA has been subtracting sales from it every week since 1989 debuted. And being it has sold so much, SIO has lost a bunch. Wherever AAtB is, SIO would be around.

EDIT: Last sales for SIO before 1989 release was ~2.54 million. The next week, it sold 62k (down 65%) as CMA kicked in that Sunday 11pm (1989 iTunes rollout).

Makes me wonder if artists will just stick to stand-alone pre-singles in the future.

Their figures are great, considering how much the album has sold We have a recent album that sold only half of what 1989 has sold so far, and yet that was the excuse the fanbase used for the incapacity of it spanning any hit
