There's literally only one slow song on "B'Day." It's full on pop.
That's not a negative. It's her best album, after all, Kisuke-San.

Does everyone in this base blindly agree with one another? In other bases, we have conversations with differing opinions on the artist. Not everyone agrees, doesn't make us any less of a fan of the artist. Guess that's not the case here. Weird, though.
"Dangerously In Love" was Pop and R&B.
"B'Day" was full on Pop.
"I Am... Sasha Fierce" was Pop and R&B.
"4" was R&B.
"BEYONCÉ" was R&B and Hip Hop.
Back to Pop is the next logical creative step.
I don't make the rules.

I have differing views too but it seems like she isn't chasing after chart success anymore.
Whether she flops or succeeds by numerical standards seems like it's not a priority for her, as evident in the last two sets she's put out. Now will other stans continue to drag her for not having a top 10, sure.
That's what this forum is for. Will it diminish her impact on the industry and have people stop grovelling at her feet?
Probably not. If she decides to go pop and fails, then what? Same thing. If she does urban cuts and succeeds, same result. People love her and what she brings to the table.
It's that star quality that she possesses that most people have the "illusion" of her slaying regardless if she actually is or not.
BeyBey has made it clear that her definition of success isn't necessarily where her songs chart, but how her entire body of work fares and how it will sound in comparison to future music.
I think we'll have more albums like these where she just does whatever she wants just because she has that luxury.
And DIL was a pure R&B album
B'day was mostly a fusion album of funk, R&B, hip hop and pop
IASF was pop
4 was R&B
ST is mostly an Alternative R&B album

I understand this. Anyone with brain cells understands this. But you're looking at short term. Beyoncé makes bank off of those tours. But Beyoncé is only in her early 30's. What is she going to do? Tour dated songs for the rest her life? She needs radio hits to sustain a tour and, frankly, as I've mentioned before, I just want to hear her on the radio. The "Beyoncé doesn't care about hits" arguments are pretty naive and not realistic. She's a recording artist. She needs hits to be able to sustain her career, no matter what you may believe. And she does, indeed, want hits, no matter what you believe. She has the luxury to "not care" or put out the image that she "doesn't care" right now, but that luxury will not last for too much longer.

Deja Vu, Upgrade U, Suga Mama, and Ring the Alarm are pop now
IASF is her only pop album. Even that's not pure pop. SL, Video Phone, Ego, Diva and etc.
By the way, these are the same people who said she had to go pop after 4 underperformed. I would like Beyonce to go into alternative pop. More Haunted less XO. But she could literally go to any genre right now and slay.

Beyoncé is touring than better and selling better than most of the girls, that debuted many years after her. She's not the pop girl. She's Beyoncé, and no matter how much anyone else sells, no will ever be in her league. She clearly did not care to get hits. I'm sure she enjoyed seeing Drunk in Love go to number two, but I'm sure it was a top priority. She barely sent some of her songs to radio. Beyoncé has incredible work ethic, if she wants something she is going to work very hard to get it. If you wanted successful singles she would have promoted them and she did not.

I agree with this point. She's too young to pretend she's a veteran (even though she is).
But it seems like Beyoncé truly doesn't care about major hits anymore, hence her not-so-radio-friendly music and the whole... no promo thing. She clearly feels like she's accomplished all she's able to accomplish (just watch the Year of 4 documentary and Self-titled docs).
I don't agree with her, but i'm not her manager, she's her manager and she's going to continue to do what she wants. At least us fans know she'll keep delivering quality music.

I love BTINH but her vocals were too brassy, if she had softened the vocals it would have been way more successful on pop radio.
