telephone had a story line and was inspired mostly by quentin tarantino
while doing it has a concept, it lacks narrative and is mostly used for eye candy. the "low budget" feel you guys keep talking about it was probably done on purpose, emulating those 90s cult movies which, visually, is where charli gets a lot of her inspiration.
