Adele did this after the 2012 Grammy's with #2 "Set Fire To The Rain," #5 Rolling In The Deep, and I think "Someone Like You" was ranked at #8.
None of these songs had slipped into recurrency on Billboard, meaning none had to reenter the Hot 100 to reach the Top 10, so all three of her songs were considered current.
Admittedly, Adele does allow more time between her singles than Swift is doing, but Adele's strategy is simply different, and certainly not worse, than Swift's. If anything, this made Adele's accomplishment that much more impressive.
