Official date as single, Grammy performance (hopefully) and music video if we're are lucky. No promo since VSFS and already Top 15. Can't imagine the slayage on next month

I think the albums trend is a fluke. Before you know it, album sales will be down 10% from 2014.
Streaming on the rise!

No-one knows yet. I think people are assuming Taylor will release the MV on the same day, that the single is sent to radio officially. This is what happened with BS and SIO. Sounds quite likely to me.

This January has been the most exciting for new album releases in recent memory. I've already bought 3 this year: Ella, Meghan & FOB.
Meghan, FOB, & 1989's longevity especially is keeping sales relatively high.

Australian iTunes charts:
10. Shake It Off
If this keeps maintaining its position, it will break Party Rock Anthem, Roar and Happy as longest Top 10 run on ARIA chart this decade

And Style definitely gives another wave on SIO

No!
I hope somebody knocks Uptown Funk off the time sometime soon (although it seems unlikely). The song is overrated in my opinion.

Taylor will have 3 songs in the top 10 by the end of this week. This is like the 100th time She's had more than 2 songs in the top 10, right?

I'm not sure any artist has ever done it with 3 active singles though.

Physical singles actually slowly rose for a few years again until 2014, when like downloads they tanked. I had some hope they might make some sort of comeback, which is why I wanted Billboard to include them in the formula at a point per copy sold, since for every physical singe about 1,000 downloads are sold.

While I know the song's downloads totals are higher and its parent's CD sales are lower, why would there not be a CMA effect for "Uptown Funk" too?

I thought the same thing, but I guess since the album sales are so minimal in the first place (24-27k), and lets say that most of its sales are digital, at most UF total may be off by 5k - 8k w/ CMA, which is offsetted by the general increase of single sales this week.

They didn't remove the single version, so there's no way a buyer could use the CMA because the single version isn't attached to the album.

So I never pre-order albums, but I had no idea the price of AB/AP was gonna go up $2 when it was officially released.
