Not even. There's nothing inherently offensive about a white person wearing a "black" hairstyle, be it braids, afro, whatever, provided it's done in a tasteful, non-caricaturing manner. Like I said before, if she captioned her pic with the braids "Got my new hairdo, now my name is Shaniqua" or something, that would be offensive. Just liking the way braids look and getting them isn't problematic in any way. The issue is society's reaction to be African American people wearing their own styles, making their own music, using their own terminology vs white people 'adopting' those same styles and making them acceptable and 'mainstream'.
But of course it's unsurprising that on ATRL the same crowd who denies racism exists or is an issue in every other thread (or denies all forms of racism except when it's black-on-white/"SEE YOU GUYS ARE RACIST TOO!") sprinted into this thread to befoul it with their usual ignorance and idiocy.
