Going "safe" puts a limit on her creatively. Caring about what may or may not work on top 40 doesn't allow freedom. I'd rather something become a huge hit from that freedom, that would be awesome. But going in the studio with the mindset of "what will work on top 40" will put a cap on her artistic growth. Several songs from
BEYONCÉ could have been hits, but she didn't even promote or send the actual singles to pop radio lol.
