My review of the album:
Quote:
How I Lost My Artistic Integrity (And a Couple Pounds Too!)in 24 Months was the title I would have given this…prior to listening. See, Kelly Clarkson, the O.G. American Idol, was practically pushed into a black, Ruben Studdard-sized oblivion during her third album, 2007’s My December, a gloomy and introspective work that bordered on “Evanescence” spooky at times. Old man Clive Davis panicked (after a heated debate with Jelly over artistic control) and pulled the plug on the worthy but risqué December. Jelly…KELLY was Davis’s daughter, and she wasn’t gonna step out the house dressed like that. Nuh-uh! Defiantly, she did anyway, got grounded for it, and here we are.
All I Ever Wanted proved a pleasant surprise at the end of the day; while it is unknown whether this was Kelly’s doing or if she’s tight, the fruits of her labor proved yummy, and the teeny-boppers can rejoice. Don’t get it twisted though, Wanted is an eclectic mix of lyrical content and musical styles that somehow, demonstrates growth from her last project. Where December was an aggro-raging **** monster nightmare, this one balances spunky kiss-offs, tear jerking tell-alls and “baby don’t leave me” lovefests, never once sounding redundant. First single “My Life Would Suck Without You” is a misleading little chunk of what Wanted has to offer, and once you’re over that “Since U Been Gone ‘09” bridge, the good **** starts. “Cry” is a heart wrenching Nashville-tinged ballad about love gone sour sure to give that Taylor Swift bitch a run for her money. Here, she puts her reality show pipes to use and BELTS the **** OUT, reminding us why we loved Kelly in the first place.
The other stellar moments are, yet again, (SHOCKER! ) her riskiest, but still glow with a conservative sheen of radio-ready pop-appeal: “If I Can’t Have You” is an electro-tinged disco stomper and future summer-anthem, possibly about bedding a married man(!) and “Whyuwannabringmedown” is a furious rock number, that unleashes the rug-munching riot grrrl Clarkson was repressing all too long. On the other hand, the title track sounds promising but when the chorus kicks in it’s painful and Kelly sounds like a pitchy (dawg) choir of bitchy, menopausal ****s while “Ready” makes for the most cringeworthy moment here. It sounds like a Sesame Street singalong for ****’s sake…you can almost see Elmo, Zoe and the rest hopping around her. *SHUDDERS* All I Ever Wanted practically begs “will the real Kelly Clarkson please stand up?” ---but, for now, this is Kelly at the top of her game…again. SUCK ON THAT, CLIVE!

3rd - "Don't Let Me Stop You"
4th - "Whyyouwannabringmedown"
= 4X platinum!

She looks fat in that cover BTW

All of the bonus tracks are better than some of the album tracks .
Can We Go Back is just the type of songs I adore.
It should have been in the album just like The Day We Fell Apart, Tip Of My Tongue could have been a nice add instead of one of the weak tracks.
I would even release one of them as a single.

The bonuses aren't bad, but I can totally see why they're bonus tracks.
So I was reading professional reviews online (linked from Wikipedia). Generally reviews are positive, if not effusive, saying that it's clear that this album is meant to sell and appeal to as many people as possible, which means that it doesn't have a clear identity and not all the songs are very Kelly. But even the more critical reviewers still praise Clarkson as an artist and argue that she makes even the weaker songs better via her artistry; for example:
"It's precisely that likability that distinguishes Clarkson from the attention-whoring Katy Perry or a cipher like Lewis, and it's the remarkable balance of technical skill and lived-in versatility in her voice that elevates her above the icy Rihanna and the tone-deaf Taylor Swift" and "literally the last voice in contemporary pop that would ever need to use [auto-tuning]".
Critics seem to generally like the first four, Long Shot, and Why the most, and If I Can't Have You the least, with grumblings against Impossible and I Want You as well. So: yay Howard Benson, boo Ryan Tedder (with some reviewers specifically calling out Tedder).
I don't agree with the critics on some of these points, but everyone's entitled to their opinions.
ETA: I decided to look at my average ratings for the tracks by the three main producer(s) [One song each is by someone besides the following.]: Benson 93, Louis/Sam 92, Ryan Tedder 86. Huh. I guess in at least the anti-Tedder point, I somewhat agree with them.

1. My Life Would Suck Without You
2. I Do Not Hook Up
3. Already Gone or Cry or Save You
4. Don't Let Me Stop You
5. Long Shot
6. All I Ever Wanted or Whyyawannabringmedown
i think they will only do one slow track this era because honestly they might flop.

After listen MLWSWY, I decided not listening to her album, cause it's damn bad. However, I give it a chance, it sounds incredible, the whole album, it's amazing but still not good as Breakaway where she's Kelly, here is mixed up with a lil bit other artist Leona, Katy, Pink?
Anyway, THE WHOLE ALBUM > I Do Not Hook Up (sounds very good as an album track, but not a good single)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> MLWSWY
I don't know why I can't digest that.

For Kelly, this is true. For Katy, this is false.
No matter how they choose singles, I only think this album will sell about as much as Leona's Spirit. But whoever said "Cry" would flop is CRAZY...that song will totally appeal to all the people that bought Daughtry, and I agree with the critics--Tedder's contributions on this album suck. Pun intended.

just bought the album yesterday, and listened to it 3 times...
sorry, but this is overproduced, and Kelly is too synthesized, i hate it. I love her REAL voice.
and also, MY DECEMBER is WAY catchier than this new album....
MY DECEMBER >>>>> BREAKAWAY >>>>>>>>>>>> ALL I EVER WANTED >>THANKFUL
this is NOT the Kelly I like. She is just doing filler tracks, I am upset. the album is just BLEH.
ugh, and I really like her, but i cant get into this album, plus the cheap album artwork is really obnoxious too.
