I Kissed A Girl is forgotten. I even hear Just Dance more frequently on the radio. "Firework" and probably "Roar" are her future "classics". Both songs are about self-empowerment as well. Poor Gaga. Her career took a major hit once she started doing the whole self-empowering thing. Kinda sad how she got beaten at her own game.
Seriously people that say Katy have no impact just can't accept the fact that she's getting the success that they/their fave desperately lacks, woo her impact in getting these gerls riled!
That is not true at all, wtf? I could name more than a few generic albums released recently that tanked hard. Seriously, there are quite a few major releases that were beyond generic, yet flopped.
A few flops here and there do not compare to the vast majority of non-generic music that doesn't succeed. Pitchfork has a site full of them. Most labels push singers to be more generic b/c nine times out of ten it works.
Gaga is the only pop girl who isn't generic. I mean, writing lyrics about Koons and putting her head on a swan in music videos. Serving unrelatable crap for years now. Queen.
She's the most generic of them all
11 dance pop singles in a row, she can't do anything else (hence why her career ended)
Does Taylor actually have any memorable songs though? Katy has IKAG, Hot N Cold, Teenage Dream and Firework (and Roar and Dark Horse soon too). Taylor's music ages almost as bad at Britney
Artists with more than 13M album sales:
-Gaga
-Rihanna
N/A Katy Perry
This is the most awkward part. Like, how can you "dominate" someone since 2011 (which is the majority of Gaga's career) and still be a good 10 million albums behind them in total? Super awkward.
