Wtf? Her music SCREAMS generic, and there are so many examples. The fact that TWO of her lead singles were accused of completely ripping off the production of another song from scratch, (California Gurls-Tik Tok, Roar-Brave), is more than enough proof.

On Golden Pond was a nice sentimental flick, with the chemistry and love between Henry Fonda & Katharine Hepburn and Fonda's relationship with the teen boy to be heartwarming to watch. It's definitely cheesey, like, really cheesey and sappy, but never rings melodramatic thanks to the fine acting between the leads and the supporting actors. My only complaint is how Jane's storyline seems so underdeveloped and almost juvenile compared to her son's. Learning what happened behind the scenes was heartbreaking and watching Fonda give the acception speech for her father at the Oscars was very moving.

b. mostly agreed. It's intentionally cheesy but works thanks to the actors' talents. Like who else could make a line such as 'You're my knight in shining armour.' work without making us cringe other than Katharine?
c. I don't think Jane's storyline is underdeveloped as much as her character is. The storyline with her son is connected to hers and gives us insight about it. It's just her character who should have gotten more depth.

So a song that sounds like ONE other song out of all the songs out there makes it generic? Roar was probably made before Brave was even released, and both CG and Roar are more remembered then their counterparts (although CG is kinda forgotten, the video remains iconic)
