Oh, I always kinda laugh when people post RT/Metacritic (especially Metacritic) scores for movies. Like, I personally stopped taking critics seriously when Born This Way scored above a 70 on Metacritic (if it were released now, it wouldn't even have a 50) and I stopped taking award shows seriously when the Oscars failed to nominate Angelina for A Mighty Heart.

The only times I disagreed with them last year were with Rise of the Dawn of the Planet of the Orbit of the Gaga of the Apes and Love Is Strange (and terrible).

I'm legitimately baffled by Taylor being some critical darling. What does she offer than any other relatable, ~quirky teenage girl can't?

Seems like most of the praise comes from her being promoted as some self-made pop star who is at the creative helm of all her music.

On Friday only (removing Thurs shows), SNIPER was $1.4m below GUARDIANS/GALAXY. Remove 3D bump and its likely SNIPER sold more tickets.

They have a different lyrical style (Taylor is more detailed and more specific where Katy is more universal and general), but the beats could've been exchanged between PRISM & 1989. Bad Blood was even offered to Katy's team at one point or so I saw on here.

Not surprised at all. The Fox News set has so few movies to get behind lately, so this will be definitely one for them. And expect uproar from them when it doesn't win any of its noms.
