You've got to remember film, theatre, musicals etc. are geared primarily towards White customers. Its been like that for generations. Earlier productions from Shakespeare, early literary adaptions i.e. P&P, Copperfield, Disney classics like Snow White, Cinderella were all characters with white skin.
Black characters would usually be the singular, the token one to be more 'represented'. Sure, there have been exceptions to the rule but that generally is the gist. Its so complex, and crazy the acting industry.

I get that, I came across an article of a white actress saying this
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...eciate-it.html
People thinking theatre is white culture is so ridiculous when Bollywood and Nollywood exist, as well as theatre in all other cultures. Just because white peoples art is the only one at the forefront or in the mainstream doesn't mean POC's art doesn't exist.
The thing is black actors look at the industry and get discouraged because they feel they won't be accepted or their work won't be appreciated, which is true 99% of the time, but that needs to change.
I remember seeing a post on tumblr with quotes from Viola Davis and other black actresses complaining about not getting roles next to a quote from Kristen Stewart saying she gets so many roles she can hardly choose

and people say black people complain for no reason
