Yesterday I realized that Gone Girl is most important movie of the decade.
All the great adult stories (the True Detectives and Breaking Bads and House of Cards) have been relegated to TV, as if to say that they're not important enough for the big screen, where Marvel and dystopian teens and animated characters have taken over.
But Gone Girl said NO, you
can tell a story for adults and it
can be 3 hours long and it
can be hard R and it
can still find a huge audience in theaters.
