His movies are well-done, though, so the watch is never boring or awful. It's just not as deep as he makes it out to be and that blocks the fun unlike the case with other blockbusters who know their place.

How do they block the fun? you analyse them too much. Would you feel different if you didn't know that they were Nolan movies?.
I would never take seriously a sci-fi movie and those 2 are the perfect examples of movies that are extremely entertaining
Interstellar was too much though
