etc. seem like songs that were designed to make a statement about her in different ways.


Songs like Get on your knees and the night is still young made it on the album.
For me, that makes it that it was designed for top 40 success and charts as it really isn't personal or representative of Nicki the way many songs of the album are.

Kind of like safe haven songs to push to top 40 with hopes that it broadens her horizons.
Clearly Nicki was thinking about that for them to make it on the album. IMO.

I think she is a bit chart obsessed she is constantly addressing her sales success in rhymes, in retweets and in interviews.
It's weird that people don't get it. Why would she make a song like TNISY and GOYKs and not release them. They are not in the top 5 by any means but certain songs have a certain purpose. It's like her making a song like anaconda and not releasing it as a single. Like, that wouldn't happen.

She's a businesswoman who has a product (album) she is trying to sell and, luckily, she is such a multi-dimensional artist who can sell that product in more ways than the average rapper or pop star could. She wouldn't just be releasing the song to get a pop hit but instead releasing it in an attempt to market her product, and even herself, to a new audience.
Somewhat valid. She's had top 40 success so it's an audience she's already reached but as far as them embracing the album yet is another story...for which I agree with the first part.

And that's just one reason why she would be releasing it, if she does. If she released it around the same time as the European tour, it'd be great promotion for both the album and the tour plus she could actually perform it on television there without looking awkward af performing a song alone without the featured artist (i.e. with Feeling Myself, GOYK since Ariana will be in the US, etc.) I
Which is why I expect
Grammy's: BOL/FM/Flawless one of the three.
BBMA: Top 40 song like TNISY or GOYK
BET awards: urban single like WSM, Shanghai, Favorite etc.
VMAs: Top 40 single like TNISY or GOYK
EMAs/AMAs: whichever single she is closing the era with.
Grammy's potential grammy nominated song.


It isn't just about getting a hit single; it's about just reaching an audience who could potentially end up buying the album.

It's really not that catchy imo. I mean, it's a decent song, but I don't think it'd do that well.

True. If the pop AND hip hop songs were better it would have helped more but still not as much she was going through her backlash phase. She's now endured that and people will be more receptive.

Releasing fan favorites just because they are fan favorites isn't something Nicki is gonna do, she's a business woman and she realizes that it isn't about trying to make your fans happy all the time. If so, she would have canned Anaconda so quickly and look at what she would've missed out on...

I think fan favorites are only good for later or last singles.

I don't know. Many hits songs spin like crazy in pre adds and don't require adds to take off. We shall see.

I know...PNP needed to be stronger in order to smash on any radio format but at least more catchy for top 40

Four Door Aventador and Anaconda are the only songs I still use.

FDA rules my mind, though. I find mysely randomly saying "keys to the ***** safe keep it unda ma ****" and "I'm in Hollywood with Shia Lebeouf". So catchy.

Great tour performance but not a single selection.
She might do a little low budget up in flames style video though.

Please I hope her team sees this. Do a quick lil video and send it to radio. It'll do it's thing up until March/April.

And then FM can have proper promo in April/May with a video/BBMAs. This would be perfect.
