It's not a question of fans illegally downloading an album (even tho' it takes a part in Rih's case since her fans in the US are mostly hoodrats ), it's just a question of demographics, they mostly don't have the same. Simple as that.

Taylor is extremely family friendly and appeals to a large crowd of white conservative people (a crowd that will most likely not download illegaly since they have a high standard of living), her image is very much safe. You combine this to her songwritting skills (means talent) and country roots (means american white folklore), you have a JUGGERNAUT.


I don't need to explain to you that when you listen to Birthday Cake or Man Down rih is quite the opposite of family friendly and she does not quite appeal to conservative people. In the US her demographics is mainly black people, any kind of young adults and teenagers from a VERY wide echelons of society .
Anyway to resume, just like Rih's long list of genres she's been trying throughout her career, her fans are a mirror of that = A MESS.

- Of course Pitchfork could be wrong but R8 in fall 2015 seems way more logical considering HOME. It gives plenty of time to let the HOME era die down

Like I said Rih can promote R8 & Home at the same time. And I'm still not convinced that there will be a "Home era", 2015 is all about R8 imo (musically). The HOME soundtrack will be promoted but Rih won't make it an "era"..

And what's the point of starting working on R8 in spring 2014, as well as shooting a video for it in December 2014, if the album is due Fall 2015? That just doesn't make sense.
