50. "Kiss and Not Tell" - almost made my top 50, also! Probably the best song this era from her.
49. "Summer" - My yearly Calvin Harris guilty pleasure song
48. "Rather Be" - one of my absolute favorites of the year
46. "Goodness Gracious" - a good Ellie track, but I wish the hooks were a bit stronger
42. "My Song 5" - the rap feature is unnecessary, the track was fire all on its own
41. "We Exist" - I always think of "Like A Virgin" when I hear this; didn't love the song until the video came out
40. "Say You Love Me" - one of my favorite Jessie songs. Would've made my own Top 50 if I didn't place limits on how many songs an artist could have
39. "West Coast" - don't tell anybody, but I actually sang this song in my head a lot when it came out
38. "Shower" - one of my favorite pure pop songs this year; almost made my list.
37. "Gunshot" - amazing Lykke Li track; the loud climax of the album; made w/ the intensity of a gunshot
35. "2 On" - hate that I didn't catch on to this song until late in the year, I was missing out on this jam for most of 2014
32. "You're Not the One" - made the Top 10 on my 2013 list, one of my favorite Sky tracks; love the guitar riff
30. "Digital Witness" - love St. Vincent, definitely one of the better tracks on the album, which is saying something since every song is great
29. "Dark Horse" - A Katy P. song I actually like, don't tell ANYONE!
28. "Into the Blue" - made my list tew, a classic Kylie jam
27. "Partition" - people hype this song too much in my opinion; it's a fun jam, but there is so much better on Self Titled. "Yonce" is the best part of this song.
26. "Two Weeks" - one of my favorites of the year, so cool and sexy
25. "Love Me Harder" - was one of my favorites when the album came out, was pleasantly surprised when it got single treatment, and happy that it became a hit
24. "Sirens" - lowkey like this song
22. "I Blame Myself" - the song that's going to define Sky's career; it's her most critically-loved single. such a strong, self-aware track
21. "A Sky Full of Stars" - cute bop
Love your list, overall. Very similar tastes to mine.
Wow thanks for taking the time to actually backtrack, that's amazing of you!
I think you taste is a lot more indie than mine tho.

Yes, "Two Weeks" is a nasty song. But it's a nasty song in the BEST way. It's nasty in the sense that it makes you want to have sex to it. Hell, that's LP1 in a nutshell. Geez, why didn't I just say that and not write a mini-essay on the album? I'd get done with all of my stuff so much quicker.
I know a lot of people say this was a disappointment, but I thought this was amazing. Maybe it's not deep and emotional as his other songs, but this is a great catchy song that serves it's job well as the lead single. His falsettos in the chorus are terrific, and when he starts rapping in the bridge, it's amazing.

Coming of Age
Foster the People
2013: Everything Has Changed (feat. Ed Sheeran) - Taylor Swift
Peak: #1 (x3)
Weeks: 12
The long awaited comeback of Foster the People. While the album was meh, this song had me hyped. It doesn't stray too far from their usual sound. All they did was make it a little more hard hitting and more mature. Awesome bop, and I love that guitar riffs.

Habits (Stay High)
Tove Lo
2013: Applause - Lady Gaga
Peak: #3
Weeks: 16
This song took the world by storm unexpectedly. It's such a dancey and boppable song, but the subject matter is actually really sad. This dichotomy is very interesting, and probably what makes this song so amazing.

Keep It To Yourself
Kacey Musgraves
2013: Royals - Lorde
Peak: #3
Weeks: 10
Underrated Kacey track. There's something about the guitars and the plucking that makes this song such a sentimental tune. It gives off an air of nostalgia and it makes my heart melt. As if that's not enough, that outro literally vaporised my whole soul.
Another emotional track. This song is so deep and dark, it pretty much speaks to all our inner demons. The lyrics are very reflective and makes you really think about yourself, your insecurities and doubts. It's pretty scary in fact. Oh, and I like the video.
The first Banks song that I really got into. I saw it on ATRL and everyone was like Banks just keeps getting better and better and literally everyone was slayed. So I had to check it out, and I was pretty slayed too. It's the most uptempo song of hers yet it's dark and gloomy and really cool. And that bridge, gurl better sing it out!

Shake It Off
Taylor Swift
2013: Do What U Want (feat. R. Kelly) - Lady Gaga
Peak: #1 (x8)
Weeks: still charting
Whooooooop! You guys probably thought this would at least be in the top 10. Well, it's not really one of her best songs, or lead singles. But it gets quite a lot of hate here and I just disagree. This song is meant to be pure fun. And it is, those horns in the song make this such an irresistibly catchy tune and it instantly puts me in a better mood.

Timber (feat. Kesha Rose)
Pitbull
2013: Thrift Shop (feat. Wanz) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis
Peak: #1 (x1)
Weeks: 21
This is not a Pitbull song. This is all Kesha, at least that's the reason why I listen to this song. Kesha really shows off her vocals in this song and I really like how her voice fits with the Western country kind of music. I wish we had more live performances from her of this cuz I really like to see Kesha show off her pipes more often. Oh well, I bet she'll showcase them more in her upcoming music!

Yellow Flicker Beat
Lorde
2013: Cups - Anna Kendrick
Peak: #1 (x2)
Weeks: still charting
This song just slays. It starts all quiet and moody and then suddenly in the chorus, the beat drops and I start spazzing like Lorde. And The Hunger Games is my favourite franchise and this song fits the movie so so well, talking about the burning fire in her, like the one in Katniss that started the revolution. Ugh I just love you Lorde.

Drunk In Love (feat. Jay-Z)
Beyoncé
2013: My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light Em Up) - Fall Out Boy
Peak: #1 (x2)
Weeks: 12
Aaaand just missing the top 10 is the King herself! When the album came out, this song didn't really stick to me. In fact most of the album didn't since the whole thing sounded very different, but this took longer than others. But slowly I warmed up to it and it's the best R&B bop ever. Bey pulls off this drunk persona very well and the hard-hitting beats make this such a bop. Oh and when you think of it as a continuation of Crazy In Love, it makes it so much better.
WE'RE IN THE TOP 10! YAAAAAAAS! Now, lemme give you some clues for #10 to #6:
SURFBORTTTTTTTTTT I felt the same way about the song initially. Everyone was fussing about it and I was focused on other songs tbh. But it grew on me and now it's probably my second favorite on the album
shake it off is a bop, drunk in love is a smashA my love for which has grown exponentially over the past few months
what was your favourite off the new foster the people album? i thought it was disappointing all round but psuedologia fantasia (or whatever) and a beginner's guide to destroying the moon were okay
