In the purest sense of the word, I believe this category fits Element most. He flopped during the first half of this competition, something he himself is aware of. Yet, in the past few weeks, he has managed to turn his game around and has become a serious contender for the crown. His success in the Games section, his intelligence (which a lot don't realize; sis is a genius), and his friendly demeanor are all going to serve him very well on this site. One of my absolute favorite 2014 members.
Shout-out to iHype for being my second choice in this category. I don't think Hype has much more potential to grow bigger than he is (as in, he's already pretty influential), but I think he's done very well in this game and is on par with Element in terms of who I think deserves to be in the finale with me.
Least Potential:
Well, this one is weird. Based on this competition, I have to go with Vespertine. That sounds contradictory, considering he's way more ATRL-relevant than most of us, except maybe iHype. Yet, that popularity hasn't really translated to this competition. I don't think it's for a lack of effort and/or talent. I think he's just on the edge of getting into slayage mode (he had my favorite entry this challenge), though this is rather late in the game to do it. There's never anything missing from his entries...There's just never anything extra to them. He's done respectable, run-of-the-mill work this cycle, and I want him to do something unpredictable yet wholly fantastic. That's what I want to see from him.
Shout-out to Marq for being in the middle. Marq hasn't won a challenge, though I definitely think he should have by this point (I would've accepted him besting me for the avatar challenge, even though Dolly is cuter). I don't think Marq has his head in the game quite as much as everyone else; there seems to be something clouding both his entries and his mindset. If that was gone, I think he'd be absolutely killing it. |

1. Most top member potential - the obvious pick for me is iHype. One of the biggest things about being a top member to me is having a perceptible personality. It's not that easy to communicate your personality online. Hype has already made a name for himself, is very visible and memorable, and sticks out as one of the top Mariah stans on the forum (and now Gags too).
2. After Hype, I would say Marq has the most top member potential. Even though he's sorta quiet and reserved, he's still very memorable. That avatar really helps. His personality is actually very unique on this overly flamboyant site, and the fact that he seems to exist beyond the pettiness of stan wars gives him a dignified air. He also has one of those simple name usernames that just work (Katie, Matty, Red, Retro, Nicole, Vin etc.). Overall a great aura.
3. Somewhere in between I would put Citrus. Although he has been killing it every week with the entries, I don't see him as much of a force outside the confines of a game. He has a big personality, but frankly white twink with drag queens + sassy black women avatars isn't exactly a unique persona on ATRL.
4. Least potential, I would say Element. He's a really nice guy and has been serving pretty consistent entries, but I feel like he doesn't have much of an identity beyond being nice. I can never really remember who he stans for (this is different from Marq, where I can specifically remember that he doesn't visibly stan for anyone) or what kind of conversation he has going around the site. |

The member who I feel has the most potential to be a top member is Element. He is still a fairly "new" user, but he's already made a lot of great impressions on the forum. Element is kind, has a very likable personality, and his creativity has already given him some success in the Games section. I feel that he can go a long way on ATRL. As far as ANTM goes, he's been a bit of a dark horse and I definitely can see him taking it all.
The member with the least potential is iHype, because I already see him as a "top member". I've been seeing iHype around the forum for a couple of years now, and I've thought of him as a well-known and very active user for a while now. He's easily one of the most popular Mariah and Gaga stans on the board, and he's had many opportunities to shine (his hosting of the hugely popular ATRL Member Awards comes to mind). I still believe that iHype has potential to grow even further as a member, but he's already pretty high up, which is why I'd say that he has the "least" potential.

He is an incredibly active poster, and he is well known throughout the forum. He has a lot of impact, but the fact is, he is already at that elite status. This competition is done in order to find the next top member, and iHype is not the next top member -- he already is one.

I feel like Element hasn't show any influence, controversy, staff potential, or done anything outrageous since he's been on the site. He's always been someone 'just there' to me if you get it. Participate in a few games, and post here and there. He just doesn't have anything that stands out to be a Next Top Member to me.
If you see otherwise, then show me. As I said, what's the point if you do the challenges correctly and win, but then after winning you just fade and continue not to stand out?
He's just never stood out to me at any point.

Citrus, your shoutout really made me realize that I've never actually won a challenge (unless the applications count) despite making it this far with pretty good scores. Frustrates me a bit.
