I'm listening via the Capital FM's website. Apparently it only works if you're in the UK and you have to choose your location within the UK before you start listening. I chose London anyway just to see what would happen. Then they asked me for a postal code to prove I'm from there and I googled one - E151AF - and it worked

I don't think so, you can choose any from the given options. What matters is the postal code they will ask you for to prove you're in that region in the UK, so just google post codes for the region you chose, insert one, and it should be fine
