It cant be halfway done, Making an animated cgi movie can easily take up to 4 years. Just rendering a single frame takes about 6 hours.

So if its halfway done now they are far behind of schedule and will never be able to finish it in time for the release date.

August: albums

Rihanna would never bother going on a new world tour like this with no new album out

Plus she will probably tour european stadiums, that'd be a risk to do this with no new album out, more than 2 years since her last release..
