Oh, by the way, on a whim, I decided to listen to iamamiwhoami's "Blue" yesterday. I wrote her off as another random, ugly, boring woman that ATRL overhypes like Tove Lo or BANKS, but I was pleasantly surprised with the album, maybe even enjoyed it. It was like I was listening to the "Drive" soundtrack with Ryan Gosling. Very 80's-inspired, but not cliché like Charli XCX, but more like a female version of M83's "Hurry Up, We're Dreaming." Why didn't anyone tell me she made music like this? Or is this just a one album occurrence and the rest of iamamiwhoami's music is boring noise?
