He's definitely contributing. I'd say it's pretty equal for both of them making it successful. I've seen many Gaga fans not buy it.

But people are buying the record because of the idea of Lady Gaga doing her first jazz recording rather then Tony Bennett doing his 87th or whatever.

I think Gaga and Tony are definitely contributing about equally toward the sales, but I also think it's only selling so much because of the novelty of the album. I'm actually kind of scared about what the sales will be for their next jazz album. Hopefully the AC audience is more here for her now.

Most people I know actually know about ARTPOP (because I gave it C2C-level promo, hihi). However, I've only meant one person outside of my social circle that knew about it when Gaga was brought up. Moreover, she was a college female, which is Gaga's main demographic anyway. She said she didn't really like it, too, and it sounded kind of old.

I've gotten my family and my favorite teacher to stan Gaga after C2C, though. They went out and actually bought the album on their own (including my dad ) instead of me having to gift it to them.

If I were them, I'd release a holiday album with festive appropriate standards next year. Capitalise and build on the established pairing with something that isn't just more of the same.

Then, if I were Gaga, I'd release a solo and original jazz album in 2017 or so.

I am just bored of Jazz Gaga. I think she should do 2 Jazz albums with Tony (One american standards and one original content) and one solo.

Her interviews aren't as candid (I swear if I hear "i have been playing jazz since I was 13" or "should I tell them Tony?" again...), her looks are basic (although beautiful) and the performances are predictable.

Although, It is better than having a drought. I just want a era. A real Gaga era. I want more than 2 videos. More interviews. More performances. More ideas. More themes.

I know it is a complaint that everyone is having but I am just going crazy. (sorry for the rant)

The guy is what, 87, 88? There are plenty of people his age that sit in homes and drool with a diaper on. She's lucky to have gotten this album with him tbh.

I've always tried to promote ARTPOP in university but although Applause was well known nobody knew about neither the album nor the second single DWUW. When G.U.Y.'s music video was released I played it in the computer room and I got a good group of people watching it (the long version)

Everyone in my class knew about DWUW and Applause, and here, there is a shop/franchise (Stradivarius) and they often play ARTPOP songs Like Swine, ARTPOP...

The people I know were aware of ARTPOP when it came out, but their comments were "apparently it's not very good" which is basically what the media was reporting when it came out, so either people don't know about it, or they heard negative press about it.
