That's kind of how I feel. I don't actually write anything down though but I always have a clear melody in mind and arrangement, instrumentation, etc.

I think most people hear their songs in their mind. It's hard to write proper songs without hearing music behind it. It's a lot harder to physically show that music though, unlike lyrics.

I wrote melodies to all my songs, but only wrote actual guitar music to a few of them. Also, I'll probably be judging tonight so I hope everyone is in on time!

It's really hard to write lyrics before the music but it will get you a very different feel of your song! I don't use that method often but it's worth a shot.

I always write everything 100% together

Occasionally I'll come up with a line first or often a hook first, but even when a hook pops in my mind it usually comes with lyrics too.

That's how I've always imagined it. I just don't actually take that extra step and compose.

I never write anything down but I always have a clear melody in my head and don't steer off it. If one thing has been good all season, it's that I've always had good flow and have never been brought up on it. I've always been told to include more metaphor, so if this song doesn't fulfil that, then I don't know what will.

Not even subtle. I'll take musical integrity over sales any day. At least she took the chance and did it. And shall I say succeeded at it? I don't get why you people are so pressed at her doing a jazz album. She planned this back when Born This Way was selling 1,000,000 copies in one week. It's not like she jumped on this after ARTPOP. Before you come for Gaga make sure you have your facts straight, PLEASE. And who says you can't evolve after your peak? Let's ask Madonna; the queen of reinvention. This bitch has done albums is every genre of music, some succeed and some don't. We won't know if Gaga has truly reached her peak until she releases a new album. I dont really want to get into it here but I will say that Gaga was my number two and Katy my number three until last year. Until then, I felt that Gaga had a stronger discography than Katy. 2013 offset that because I consider PRISM to be Katy's best work and ARTPOP Gagas worst. And believe me, it had literally nothing to do with success or sales. Just the music. C2C wasn't my thing either. I'd prefer to listen to a Buble album.

Sam, I respect that. See the thing with me is that I don't hate any artist, formally. I don't care for a lot of them as humans, but it's more-so them than their music. I never got into the Katy-Gaga "feud" because I bought Prism AND ARTPOP. Even though I stan for Gaga as a person. I used to stan for Katy and Gaga before I even knew what stanning was. Hot-N-Cold and Just Dance were the first pop songs I ever heard formally and got into. I eventually ventured more towards Gaga because Katy's music is too damn happy for my depressed soul sometimes I just hate to see anyone brought down basically and I jump too defensive. It's the Scorpio in me
