I srsly doubt that using Gaga's name has helped selling the record. It's just a war on the side for gossip blogs and TV shows, nothing that sells the album. People don't buy an album just because one artist dislikes another.

By that logic, Madonna using Gaga's name in her promo must have hurt Gaga herself in her sales since after that Gaga couldn't repeat the success of her previous releases

It did, however, opened the GP eyes ,and Madonna dragging Gaga is one of the main reasons she (gaga) stopped being cool, the GP dropped her and Artpop underperformed.

I think if Madonna wants to smash she needs to release Living for Love in Europe and do some promo for the album and song. Then release B I'm Madonna in the US since it's clearly showing signs of being a possible smash..and then release some Avicci track world wide. Then release a ballad ish song and then end with something like Best Night or w/e
