That's what anti-blacks want, for black people to be too busy fighting that they lose sight of the real issue All this anti-Iggy stuff is doing is holding you back.

Thank you!!

Iggy get's **** for breathing in the hip-hop world because she puts on a fake accent that makes a mockery of southern black women. Why can't she rap in an Australian accent?
Iggy get's **** for breathing in the hip-hop world because she won't acknowledge her privilege as a white woman. Where as other notoriously white artists (Eminem and Macklemore) have acknowledged that they have it a lot easier in this genre because they are white.
Iggy get's **** because she wants to be black when beat drops, but the second it ends, she's a suburban white woman and refuses to speak on actual racism in the world by turning it into a discussion about herself and why she's a victim, while making fun of a black woman crying in an interview about the struggles of being a black woman.
Iggy get's **** for being a mediocre white artist that's being praised as if she's the second coming of Jesus in the hip-hop world. She's getting grammy nominations, which are awards for excellence in a specific genre/category. But Iggy isn't excellence, there are other artists that are infinitely more talented than she is, but get half as credited all because of their skin color.
Iggy get's **** for tweeting racist **** in her past and doesn't acknowledge it, nor has she apologized for it in any way other than "Sorry if you were offended"
If Iggy didn't want to get ****, she could know her place, know her privilege, and use her privilege to educate others on the injustice that happens in the industry or even make a change on that injustice, and help people notice these other talented artists get the exposure they deserve and the accolades they deserve.
But no, what does she do? She cries on twitter and makes herself a victim.
But please, defend her some more.

If the black group created the cheers, and the white group STOLE them, and took them to an ESPN competition and won trophies with them, the black group should be cool with it, b/c those cheers are for everyone??

Please stop. Living in a certain area does not make you qualified to steal another culture or imitate someone else. She was rapping that way before TI so it's none of "TI's influence"- and the main problem is she is apart of the whitewashing of black culture. Her music is not hip hop, it's pop-yet she has been chosen as the poster girl for hip hop in 2014 despite the fact that she is not that talented nor has enough credentials to warrant that. What exacerbates all of this is that she thinks Azealia's comments are about her, and never has she acknowledged her privilege or even dared to have a serious discussion about it.
Instead these black superheroes cape for her and want to speak for her when they have NEVER dared to speak in defense of any black female rapper-let the girl speak. She has a twitter, brain, and fingers. She is more than capable of punching a keyboard to defend herself.
You must not have seen Amethysts previous attempt at a pop career.
FYI: Drake does not sound like Lil Wayne. He's exactly the same as his first mixtape, Room For Improvement.

1. That video was stepping over the line a ton and if that's what this bashing is about then so be it. I approve.
2. Do you realize that she has been in America for a third of her life now and her mentors were all American Southern Men? You pick things up naturally and even if it isn't natural then its still the style that she grew up with and is inspired by. Singers and rappers do that. Look at Wayne to Drake or Gaga to Madonna.
3. She needs to acknowledge it. If she doesn't then that's a damn shame and I approve of the bashing.
4. She doesn't want to be black. White people make hip-hop too. Let music be music. Not every artist speaks out on racism even if they're black speaking on black hate. Why should Iggy do it when hundreds of other artists don't REGARDLESS OF DAMN RACE? Where is this thing about her making fun of some other woman crying? Never even heard of that
5. Grammys are awful. We learned that in 2010 when Kanye didn't win AOTY and last year when Macklemore won over arguably the best hip-hop album since MBDTF. This is white privilege and Iggy can't control that. Not worth bashing HER for.
6. Yeah read back to 1 and 3. I don't approve of racism and the stuff in her past is worth bashing. But nothing NOW which is what Azealia and QTip are talking about.
7. Agree.

FYI Debbie Harry wasn't capitalizing on the rise of anything in that song. Hip hop was not mainstream then and was demonized then.

I know exactly what Blondie is. My point is that it was lead by a female vocalist and that was probably the closest reasoning will.i.am had to Iggy.
Hip Hop was still underground but had growing acclaim by major publications. A pop/rock group like Blondie taking an element of Hip Hop is just another example of them using a cool new genre for personal gain and it worked. Regardless, "Rapture" was only one record and Blondie did nothing on a major level for the entire genre. Will.i.am is basically saying Blondie is a pioneer of hip hop, when that is one of the biggest reaches and would be giving them a bit too much credit.
A better example would have been The Beastie Boys, who were an actual rap group and took it to the mainstream with more than just a small rap portion of a song. Giving Blondie credit for the advancement of hip hop when you have more suitable examples is a bit of a reach.

Take away race. If anyone does this it isn't okay.
She was mentored by T.I. and grew up inspired by American hip-hop. It's not stealing it's inspiration. She isn't stealing lines and stealing beats and stealing flows. She's inspired by people and so makes music similar to that. It's not stealing smh. You could say this about ANY damn rapper. you just choose Iggy because she's white and has OTHER problems This is not one of them.

It's 2014 and racism is still alive. Oops. The fiction that racism or any type of discrimination is dead is a lie from the pits of hell. I wish you'd try to tell any respectable political science professor or scholar that statement and they would laugh you out of existence.
