Adult contemporary as a big genre kinda died in the past decade, minus Buble and Susan Boyle.

It's weird how genres can vanish like that. Like emo/pop punk being so big in the mid 00's and pretty much nonexistent now

I'd say AC has held up fairly well considering the circumstances. So has hip hop and R&B.
What's really dead is rock. Of any form.

Sure, the legacy acts are doing okay but the whole genre in general has went back to being completely underground in just a matter of years.
