Of course it's not like PRISM, the latter was quite messy and didn't have a heavy propaganda machine behind it.
But 1989 is yet another Q4 blockbuster by miss Swift. If releasing 3 6 million selling albums after her 6m selling debut didn't make her have a 200m grossing tour, this won't.
If 22 which is better than most 1989 tracks couldn't smash with shitload of airplay, the rest of the 1989 tracks won't smash either. I'm not making any predictions, but 1989 won't be any legacy making 21/kTD/TFM like making era. Stop getting too ahead of yourselves whenever something finds success.
The only thing that's stupid is your weird Australia sig.
And @Shayne: PRISM was almost panned. I certainly don't remember the hype over it being close to as big as the hype over 1989. I mean if you'd go by what these magazines and music blogs are saying, you'd think 1989 is the holy water in an mp3 form.
But why do critics have anything to do with propaganda machine? I mean, just because Katy have nothing more to do with This Is How We Do doesn't mean the Prism era didn't have the biggest propaganda campaign since TD era.
That makes no non-brazilian sense what so ever. If PRISM were propaganda pumped, why do you think the single they pushed for the most bombed while the song they initially ignored became the most noteworthy smash of the era? why do you think the album barely received any critical praise? Face it, Katy crafts universally loved pop songs while Taylor sells her music almost to the same people over and over and over and over except each time media blows the whole thing out of proportions that it just becomes ridiculous.
Taylor's
era will be done by early next year. None of the **** left on the album
hits as hard as Shake It Off. I'm still flabbergasted at how Blank Space
has done. All she has left is a bunch of 22 remakes and a Lana ripoff
(a recipe for failure).
The tour will probably gross like 10 or 20m more than the last one.
You guys get excited too easily.
This is not really possible due to the extreme rise in her ticket prices from the Red tour to the 1989 ones. The crazy high prices alone will make it gross at 50M more than the Red Tour.
The RED tour looked so interesting. I was sad I missed it but then she never tours the bay area for some reason.
I might be in the minority here, but I think she's a better performer than Gaga and Rihanna because she at least doesn't try to overshadow the production and blends in with it.
