Why does Britney's TEOG **** on Gaga's? Britney could have won Grammies w/ it.

A song in the same vein as Bad Romance won't work anymore. People aren't here for it.
She needs a new gimmick to bring in the $$$$$ fans.

I feel like we legit talk about this every hour. We need to come to terms with Gaga is gonna do her thing, and we also just have to hope she still knows the perfect formula.

We do... But there's little to nothing else to talk about with her.

I dragged Gaga's hairstylist on Twitter the day he gave her that horrendous lacefront for the Golden Globes and he has me blocked since then!
Frederic really isn't anybody's friend! If he loved Gaga he just wouldn't.

The production on Sexxx Slayage's chorus is the best on ARTPOP.

Nothing 'cause it'll never happen. Britney never had another 'Toxic', Madonna never had another 'Like A Prayer', Michael never had another 'Thriller', Gaga will never had a 'Bad Romance'. Those kinds of all-encompassing, zeitgeist-crushing singles happen only once every so often. We should just be happy that she's the only one out of her contemporaries to snatch it.
If BR is the level we expect her to always reach, we will always be disappointed.

Gaga's either going to come back and smash with her next album in 2016 or never have any big hits again tbh. I kinda feel like she's on Kesha's level at this point, being completely honest. It's gonna be an uphill battle.
But then again, the tour did well and C2C is about to outsell several Pop gherl's albums by the end of the year so

I couldn't care less if Gaga doesn't have any 'big' hits again. As long as the music is good and she delivers the bops I'll support her

Kesha's level? Since when has Gaga been forced into a position to accept a low paid reality TV talent judging job that flopped in ratings and incapable of scoring a solo hit + touring without the help of Pitbull after a flop album that couldn't scrap 400k worldwide? And as much as I like Kesha, there's a reason why Gaga's name was deliberately and falsely brought into Kesha's own rape case TWICE due to bringing the most attention to it.
Y'all truly love to over-exaggerate Gaga's "decline" and career state as much as those that hate her. ARTPOP didn't perform well, whatever, we accepted that. She still came out of 2013 as one of the most discussed popstars of the year according to Forbes, earned $33M excluding most of her tour earnings, performed to near 1M people and grossed $85M on the tour supporting her underperforming record and is now heading into 2015 with an acclaimed successful #1 jazz record that has a Grammy nomination and another sell-out tour.

Well, I mostly meant "on Kesha's level" as in her presence in the public conciousness/on radio. Both had a string of hits in 2009-10 and have since kinda...struggled. A lot of casual listeners have moved on from both of them since a long time ago.
But I agree with GoddessOfLove, as long as the music is good I'm not gonna be pressed. If she cracks into the Top 10/Top 5/#1 next era, good for ha. It's not why I stan.

THANK YOU.
I don't get everyone's obsession with Gaga having to repeat what she has already done. Similar to a few members in this thread being upset that Gaga will most likely never sweep award shows like she did at VMAs 2010, when in reality few artists have experienced that kind of award show sweep in their careers full stop. She's done it, she doesn't need to do it again. She just needs to prove longevity at this stage, another hit, another successful album, whatever, she can easily get that and it doesn't need to be BR / TFM in terms of impact, success and award acclaim.
I remember Oprah talking about how MJ kept trying to chase the phenomenon that was Thriller and top it in terms of quality and success but he never did. It would **** an artist over if they were comparing themselves to their own colossal peaks that seldom artists see in their career lifetime.

I'm giving my first full listen to Ray of Light ever. It's like more Alternative/Country album than pop so far. I realised that I have heard the title track before.

Tell them.
We all just need to accept that the most likely reality is that she's not gonna be the "it" girl ever again. Like ever again, and once that's accepted - being a Gaga fan is a whole lot more enjoyable. Remove yourself from the realm of ATRL and into the realm of you actually enjoying and listening to her music, and nothing's changed.

Sis, the hyperbole. In what way has Gaga struggled the same way Ke$ha has? Even with Gaga flopping, she still made more money and accomplished more than Ke$ha did during her peak.
2009-10? In 2011, Gaga released an album that went on to become the second highest-selling female album this decade thus far.

Well, I never said that. She can easily become the "it" girl again, but she doesn't have to repeat 'Bad Romance' for that to happen.

Exactly. We never "expect" her best material, so it's best to just sit idly by.
As much as I loved BR, I never expected songs like TEOG or DWUW to come out and slay me.

It was such a random release and then nothing happened
