Yet, as has been noted before, Azalea's music lacks unique content or an authentic artistic persona; instead, it's extremely marketable and formulaic. She's built a career out of co-opting black artists' sounds and failing to give appropriate credit. Everything about the beat she used for "Fancy" was ripped from L.A.-based producer DJ Mustard, who built that hollow and dramatic sound.
She crafts her image to seem blacker. There's a clear difference between how Azalea speaks off-stage and the way she raps. Although she communicates with an Australian accent in interviews, she raps in a voice that imitates how many black Southerners speak and also employs African-American Vernacular English. It's been dubbed a "blaccent," and can be heard on every Azalea track. As a talented performer, she could just as easily rap without it and use her natural voice instead.
Time will tell whether Iggy Azalea has any staying power in the industry or if she'll go the way of Vanilla Ice.
What was Iggy's fault tbh? Not tweeting a single tweet? The ongoing discussion is so disgusting and member's began to attack each other based on their races I'm not saying Azshit is completely wrong but this is too much now
ugh, even I'm tired of all this race talk from Azealia but I have one question.
Has she been discussing these race topics for the sake of awareness and criticism or is she bringing it up in the context of her career failing?
I ask because I see the Azulu haters saying, "see this is why she's not famous!!1!" (including Iggy) which seems completely irrelevant if she weren't complaining about the state of her career. It's jut deflecting and trying to ignore an issue by bringing up a new topic.
I'm ready for the rain to pour down on me
I'm ready for a change to come and set me free
I'm ready for my loss to become victory
But most of all, most of all
As much as I love Ari, it is beyond embarrassing how low her album has sold despite everything. Her album was promoted on every single existent format incessantly for months on end, and her songs follow everyone on radio like a cult.
Like what else could one possibly do to sell an album that she hasn't already done?

Break Free ****ed up her momentum tbh, second single should have been a solo Bang Bang
