"Firework" was an album track before Gaga made the announcement and made a single shortly thereafter. Even if Kesha had already recorded WRWWR, she had probably recorded most of
Cannibal, and the fact that WRWWR was chosen as the lead single after Gaga's announcement makes it subject to discussion. I'll give you P!nk's career, but the only singles and new tracks from her greatest hits album were self-empowerment anthems, and were released following Gaga's announcement.

This is true, but this thread is specifically discussing the very apparent trend of said songs being released as singles in the fall of 2010 and winter of 2010-2011, not anything before or after.
