These are my Top 10 songs of the year but never would I pretend that they're the best.
There's more to music than "opinion" cos of all the years and years of things that came
before now, all the things that people have already done before. It's when someone does
something new and uncharted that it becomes objectively good, I think. Why is that so bad to say?

Oh my god. I'm not calling you pretentious because of your taste. I'm calling you pretentious because you're saying things like "pretty much anyone that's exceedingly familiar with both artists would probably agree that Annie had the better album." (which is more or less saying pretty much anyone would agree with ME, not you, and a completely unsubtle attempt to imply that I'm not "familiar" with the artist) and "I'm just trying to see music from a non-opinionated perspective which I think is very possible to do. " (it's not) and refusing to admit they're pretentious nonsense. Music is NOT objective, and you started this whole conversation because I voiced my
OPINION that Ultraviolence is better than St. Vincent's untitled. Turning it into "well, the FACT is that St. Vincent is better!!!" is pretentious as ****.
And neither St. Vincent nor Lana's album explores "something new and uncharted" in the musical world so I don't know where the **** you're going with that.
