Don't apologize to me. You're a true Nicki Minaj fan, and I respect Barbz that stick to their guns.

The problem with Nicki is she didn't have a single as strong as Starships this era.

I think fans underestimated how important having a monster mainstream and much-loved single (by regular joes, not just urban audiences) is.

The album's strongest moments are where she does electro R&B and pop-rap. If she had a few dance tracks, it would have been a great pop album with a future. Instead we're going to need radio edits.

TNISY is a future hit single but sounds really dated. Like an outtake from 2011/2012. Not a big fan.

GOYK is okay but sounds like a Iggy reject.

This is all really sad, considering almost everyone acknowledges that she's first and foremost a rapper. The pressure to sell out and do more pop at the expense of risking credibility is real.

I'm still surprised 155k is the estimate, though. Anaconda alone should've been enough to garner attention.

I think they'll increase. I went to 3 targets and 2 best buys yesterday and not one had the album out, saying they wouldn't stock the shelves until today. Seems that a lot of stores are having this issue too.

Grand Piano has the potential to be a huge hit single. Like her biggest single ever. But ultimately it would also signal the end of her rap focus, as its the most pop she's ever gone in her entire career. It's really a last resort but it will sell the album to mainstream audiences, more than obvious singles TNISY and GOYK. It also prepares urban audiences better for the album.

I believe I read that Nicki raps less on this album than any other album or mixtape, which means there will be audiences turned off by that as well.

It should have been marketed as an R&B/pop album (like Beyonce) with some rap tracks thrown in. That's a more accurate description than "classic rap album" which it really isn't.
