I legitimately don't understand the appeal of Megham Trainor. She looks like the epitome of a basic fat white girl to me.. I didn't think it was possible for a pop star to look more basic than Katy Perry then Megham came along and I thought, 'you know what this makes sense because most people in America are obese anyway'. And then she had the audacity to put the same song out twice with the same doo-woppy feel as if Ariana hadn't already exploited the 50s for 2000s pop music with 'Yours Truly' (and Ariana did a much better job, might I add)
Furthermore, I find it ridiculous that she's being lauded as this 'body champion' as if she's this messiah of self-acceptance and destroyer of body shaming. 'Anaconda' is as much of an thick body empowerment anthem as AATB is, but for special white snowflake America, Megham Trainor's song comes in a special white snowflake package and is more digestible than Nicki's song for the simple fact that Nicki is black and racism is embedded into mainstream American logic on a widespread level.
Some of ya'll will stan for anything, and I mean any thing. Wake me up when the next fat girl gets a taste of pop super stardom. God I can't wait for Adele to come back and invalidate this heifer's existence.
