Nooo, you're definitely not in the wrong. I'd feel really disrespected too if that happened to me. Choosing to ignore and be ignorant to those types of comments is almost as bad as making them. idg how someone can literally watch one of their friends be subtly insulted, and then defend the offender/act like it didn't happen?
People who don't want to hear anything negative about someone they like because they want to keep a pure image of them are so disgusting. I mean- no offense to your friend or anything, but that kind of stuff bothers me so much and is one of the biggest social issues we have in the world today.
The whole "don't ask, don't tell" mentality is so dumb.
