Beyoncé didn't even bother to promote her album or singles, and still managed to reach good figures without it.
She has a more mature sound, blow the indutry with her new release strategy and got headlines in everywhere major newspaper/magazine, blog or tv channel in the world. She's number 1 in Forbes once again and just finished two huge and sucessfull tours, even OTR reached 100+ million with only 19 shows or something? Vanguard award? Won a few major awards already in different categories? Most talked about singer on Facebook? Second most searched person on Google, and number one on Bing (I think?).
Billboard doesn't take in count half of what I said (and I'm sure there's more stuff to it). This was Beyoncé's year, period.
