in the past, tony has consistently won against barbra. the main difference this time is that partners was an even bigger success than c#1c. i'm hoping that barbra has done something bitchy in the past to make the voters dislike her, or that tony is on good terms of the academy so he can round up some bias

I'm glad they recognised C2C. More noms were deserved, but that's not how it works so whatever.

I think they have as good a chance of winning as Barbra and Annie. They are safer choices, but C2C does have the benefit of being different. The pairing of Tony and Gaga is noteworthy, it's not a typical covers album, they did a good job with it, it's been a higher profile release, it's successful and they'll continue to be more visible whilst promoting through the academy's voting period. Plus, they like them both, they'll respect that Gaga took a risk and did something different which is a more vocally driven release, and the industry has praised Tony before for his career resurgences.

Not saying it will win, because there are pros and cons for all, but it has a damn good chance. And I'd rather she won a Grammy for this than ARTPOP tbh. Not because of superior quality but because of nerve and being a more defining album for her career.
