Sis were you around for the Monster v. DITD 4th single wars back then because The fact that there wasn't even a 4th single at all got so many people pressed

The only way DITD would have been a feasible single is if they made a radio edit without that horrid intro. I mean, the rest of the song is great, but that intro
"Monster" is one of my favorite Gaga songs and one of the ones I connect with most deeply. It's so brilliant and displays emotions through its seeming monotony in the same way SHICD does.

The Fame Monster's dark synth pop was just perfection. It fit Gaga's weirdness and dark, provocative themes and image so well and the productions (mostly by RedOne) were flawless.
Monster would have SMASHED so hard. I am still upset that was never a single. Dance in the Dark is amazing in it's own right and would've been a great single as well--hell, even So Happy I Could Die could've been a decent single.
That album was loaded. We were spoiled. Quality>quantity and the succinct 8 tracks was probably her best work in my opinion, as much as I love BTW and ARTPOP (and even C2C).
Bad Romance, Alejandro, and Monster to start off the album alone slays most other pop albums.

DITD was released to radios in Australia were it flopped so it won out in the end.

But why not? Monster could have had a release in July and Dance In the Dark in October. Born This Way would have been out in February anyways, so they both would have fit just fine. There really was no reason for them not to release the two songs in my opinion. I've seen some people say that the public was growing tired of Gaga by Alejandro, but I disagree. That was the height of their interest in her, and leaving such a sour taste in many of their mouths after Alejandro, as amazing as I personally think the video is, was not a smart move. Monster would have been one last classic Gaga hit from The Fame Monster, and Dance In the Dark a new sound for the public to get a taste of her upcoming work, since, in my opinion at least, Dance In the Dark is the closest sound to Born This Way on her albums that were released before it.
I personally think she sort of shot herself in the foot by semi disappearing between Alejandro and Born This Way - especially considering that she had viable hits to release - because others jumped on the opportunity to take on the "Gaga shtick" in her semi absence. (I say semi because she wasn't as elusive as during the true blackout that was pre-ARTPOP, but, other than the tour, she was kind of MIA for that time.)

Oh, that part is fine. I'm talking about the male voice stammering the letter D for the first 30 seconds of the song.

Ya, that and the ****o audio in the beginning (as much as I love it ) would have to go for a radio edit.

He ate my heart
He a-a-ate my heart
(You little monster)
He ate my heart
He a-a-ate my heart out
(You amaze me)
...
He licked his lips
Said to me,
"Girl, you look good enough to eat"
Put his arms around me
Said, "Boy, now get your paws right off of me."
...
I wanna Just Dance
But he took me home instead
Uh oh! There was a monster in my bed
We french kissed on a subway train
He tore my clothes right off
He ate my heart then he ate my brain
...
That boy is a monster
M-m-m-monster
That boy is a monster
Er-er-er-er
I love this song so much. My emotional and personal connection to it make it one of her best songs. I don't care what anyone else thinks.

Let's be honest, every single track on The Fame Monster ***** on the rest of her discography, even though she has a few tracks that are TFM level

Did we ever find out why she added "Monster" to the setlist at Roseland. That was random as hell. Was it part of her tirade against those who abused her (like G.U.Y. MV)?

Marry the Night has been hitting me hard lately. That bridge...I just don't even have words. I don't think some of you realize just how beautiful it is.
- "Nothing's to cool, to take me from you - New York is not just a tan that you'll never lose." Gaga reassures whoever she is singing to that there is nothing in this world that could possibly take her love permanently away from them, and that just as how she loves New York so much, her love for this person is far deeper than "a tan that you'll never lose," which can be taken to be a visual symbolization of something that is only skin deep, even if it does seem lasting.
- "Love is the new denim or black." I take this to mean that she's claiming love as something that is so everyday to her life, that it's almost as common as an everyday pair of denim. Also, she's saying that love is that thing we ultimately have to fight for today, similar to how so many black people in America fought for their rights in the 1960's and beyond.
- "Skeleton guns or wedding bells in the attic." "Skeleton guns" refers to that fighting never leads to a good outcome. (Death, aka skeletons, is the result of the use of guns, thus "skeleton guns".) "Or wedding bells in the attic," is Gaga questioning whether this fighting that she's doing with whoever the subject may be is perhaps just a short term roadblock (thus the "wedding bells" of their commitment being far away "in the attic," but not entirely gone).
- "Get Ginger ready, climb to El Camino's front, won't poke holes in the seats with my heels, 'cause that's where we make love." This is where Gaga brings all the past reflection from the previous portions of the bridge back to reality, where she takes what she's been mulling over in her head and applies it to what lies in front of her. She wants to have one more night of passion with the person in question (Lüc) before she knows that she's done, thus her requesting to get "Ginger," his El Camino, ready for their last time, and reminds him that she would never ruin the sanctity of where they made love because, even through all the **** that he gave her, she still values that love.
- "Come on and run! Turn the car on and run!" This shows Gaga enjoying her last moment of ecstasy and love with Lüc.
This is one of my takes on it. There's just so much to it and so many different ways of taking things. I don't really think there is one correct answer to what it means. It touches deep into my soul, and truly gave me the insight I needed to figure out my will to live at the time it came out. I'm so, so grateful to Gaga for releasing it as a single and it's video.

I really like your interpretation of it. Someone posted an essay in the base about why SHICD is her best-written song. It's a really interesting read like this. Let me see if I can find it.
