This thread though. I think it's pretty clear that Wells didn't just touch a nerve, but punched one. The fury some of you have over apparently irrelevant opinions.
I can't comment as I have only heard the lead single for 1989, but that is very in the style of pop that Katy popularised and ruled post Gaga-dance-pop so I can only assume the rest is as well.
I really don't get why people say this. It's like they've never listened to Teenage Dream or PRISM. You're really telling me songs like Cali Gurls, Teenage Dream, ET, Roar, Birthday, This Is How We Do, etc. sound similar to SIO, Blank Space, Style, Out of the Woods, Wildest Dreams, etc.? There's just no similarity in sound. Like at all.
1989 isn't an original record, there's traces of a lot of other music on it, but to say it sounds like Katy Perry is just nonsense.

The butterfiles being figurative as in the one in your stomach that make you feel like you can't breath in the most magnificent way turn to dust that covered the whole room what happens in a room full of dust? you can't breath it closes off your airways. so she punches a hole in the roof of this house her safety and defense from the rain to drown out the dust but by doing that she's let the rain in (sadness/emotion?) and it has nowhere to go but to fill up the room which could also be interpreted as lungs figuratively taking away all the memories (pictures) she was holding onto despite it being painful and constricting and now she is in danger of drowning again in the pure emotion now that she recognizes and validates it. its overwhelming and she feels like shes dying but she keeps it together on the outside so no one notices her suffering

Katy's team need to stop coming for the superior artist and get to work writing and producing for Katy's re-release of her album for the Super bowl performance.

From what I've heard of 1989 I absolutely agree. But that's what happens when Max Martin produces almost all of your album, it's not going to sound unique or new. Like all of the productions I've heard could've been done exactly the same for Katy
