Most of those songs weren't flops -- they were only released to country. EHC was an unpromoted 5th/6th single, so its peak isn't that alarming, and it still went platinum.

It seems like most of her success has been driven by Max and Shellback as of late, but we will have to see what she does with T6.

Max Martin knows pop. He's the not only one, but there's something about his songs that are very likeable.

I wouldn't say she [I]needs [/I ]him just like P!nk didn't need Max Martin with The Truth About Love era to get hits.

She certainly doesn't NEED him. This just shows he contributed the best quality work to the album. The Ryan Tedder and Jack Antonoff tracks are generally not as strong.
