I'm interested in who is in charge of the Empire and how it thrived after VI. You'd have thought the rebels would have taken control by now.

Yeah, me too. I do wonder if the rumors that Luke, Leia, and Han and Chewbacca all went their separate ways after Return of the Jedi are true, though. I hope they aren't. I mean... They've been through so much together and then they all just go their separate ways? It doesn't make sense. I hope the plot of the new film is unlike any of the rumors we've seen so far. I want to be entirely surprised.

I think Kasdan (he's involved with this one, right?) wants to go back and do what he wanted with VI by proxy through VII. It was supposed to be darker and end with Han dying, Leia becoming the Queen of either the Republic or of the remnants of her planets, and Luke being sent out to the Galaxy alone, in a quest to discover himself after Vader's death. Such a stark difference from what VI became.

Wow. I'm a die-hard Star Wars fan and I didn't even know that! I knew that Harrison Ford wanted Han to die at the end of Return of the Jedi, but George Lucas refused to kill him off because he thought if Han died it would affect the sales they get from the promotional methods they use (like action figures), because he said a dead Han wasn't as profitable or something like that? Anyways... If Harrison Ford still wants Han to die, maybe this film will be it for him. I would literally cry if he died, though. Not even kidding. But yeah, that is really interesting. I never knew that Lawrence Kasdan wanted Return of the Jedi to end like that! That's insane! I like the ending as it is, though.

I'll try to find the article for you tonight! It was an interesting read. Basically him and Lucas butted heads as Lucas wanted to make the film more commercially viable and wanted to focus on merchandising, whereas Kasdan wanted to continue on in tone from ESB.

Yes! 3 posters, one with Luke, one with Leia and one with Han with the trailer following a week later on May the 4th. I think I'd die.

I would LOVE a poster with the silhouette of Luke, Leia, Han and Chewbacca looking over with the Millennium Falcon soaring over behind them.

Thanks! Yeah, that is really interesting. I never knew that George Lucas was THAT concerned with commercial profit regarding those films..... I think Return of the Jedi turned out fine, though. I can't complain. It was the perfect ending. I'm curious to see how they're able to continue the story with the next one. I'm praying Disney and J.J. Abrams don't screw it up....

YES! I stanned for all of the unpopular Jedi. My favorites were Ki-Adi Mundi and Shaak Ti, but I also loved Luminara Unduli and Aayla Secura. My all-time favorite Star Wars character is Chewbacca, though. I'm so glad I got to meet Peter Mayhew a few years ago at Comic Con. I got to meet Jeremy Bulloch (Boba Fett), too. It was amazing!

When does the new EU start? Is the old still going on anywhere?
|
Well it already started. The A New Dawn book is already out which is in between EPIII and EPIV and which is also a few years before the Rebels series, and a Tarkin book was just released I think. The first few comics are coming in January 2015, we basically have three comics announced so far, 'Star Wars', 'Darth Vader' and 'Princess Leia'.
And the new EU is also completed by the new Rebels series and by the different things surrounding the Cone Wars still to come, which are basically part of this 'The Clone Wars Legacy' thing.

ill suck, they always mess up modern movies, the title doesn't even have "Episode" in it, they are going to ruin it, I'm scared, I don't like that stupid new lightsaber either no Sith would need a plasma crossguard he'd just chop off his wrists the actors always act weird in the 70s the actors acted in a timeless way now they act like they stepped out of 2014 and there's petulant little kids and stuff which is supposed to be cool but is actually dumb like the turds that were the latest Hobbit movie or Indiana Jones seriously falling 2000 feet down a cave and surviving? Hiding in a fridge and it protects from nuclear blast? And they always make NEW JEDIS do impossible things, back in the old days Jedis didn't leap off walls and from spaceship to spaceship, now they just do stupid crazy stuff like they are magic human fleas, seriously even Yoda, ****ing Yoday, was jumping around doing backflips when he was fighting Count Dooku, it's jarring and I don't like it and I'm scared.

Yes yes and YES! Shaak Ti escaping the temple Luminara is so underrated I also stanned so hard for all the unpopular jedi. Maybe because they were better.

I don't really liked Luminara but I did like Shaak Ti a bit, Aayla A LOT, when she dies during EPIII

If there's one thing I really don't like so far is really that 'Episode' isn't in the title, I REALLY hope they'll add it
