LP1 is alternative, but people have been submitting "Two Weeks" for pop. I guess that makes more sense than R&B.

Performance is for vocalist and production team. Song awards just go to the songwriters.

I put Two Weeks in Pop. because thats where she submitted it in the Grammys.

Well, these are all the submitted contenders for Best Rap/Sung category. There's obviously a pattern here.

They're only now allowing songs with the rapper as the lead artist to contend in this category. Beyoncé and a bunch of other past winners and nominees in this category were relegated to R&B Performance or Pop/Duo Group this year.

The Grammys don't always make rule changes public but its not hard to spot the difference between the past years' submissions list to this year's (and last year's) submissions list.

What do you all think? Is that how we want to do it?

On the matter of Echosmith: Are they pop? I've gotten some rock and alternative submissions for them as well. I could argue "Cool Kids" either way, to be honest.

Cool Kids is alt-pop to me, but it's more pop than alt.

Azealia's album would be in rap but Chasing Time could def go to pop. It doesn't matter though because Azealia would be ineligible this year anyway.

So "Chasing Time" to pop and "Heavy Metal and Reflective" to rap? Otherwise, she's not eligible this year.

They're Indie Pop, ALT Pop, which is a subgenre of Alternative Rock and ALT Rock is subgenre of Rock so they're under the Rock umbrella therefore they are Rock. And the ALT community supports as that's where they came from.
