Mariah and Madonna have had WAY worse flop eras (or genuine flop eras), so yeah. Gaga IS still a main pop girl for now. You don't lose that on one or even two flop albums. When you get to 3+, maaaybe

she's completely irrelevant to the public. it's been that way since like midway through the BTW era, not just ARTPOP. of course she will never be completely irrelevant till she's dropped from her major label (which will probably never happen), but the promotion and bought radio play will only take her so far - and her fans will only take her so far. she'll continue to produce 1.7m ww albums, and worse, if she doesn't massively step up her game. make music that sounds fresh and has lyrics that aren't inane.

so no, she is not a major pop girl right now. the only thing carrying her is her dwindling fanbase.

Mariah had MUCH more success before her flops. Like, comparing her early career to Gaga, and there is no comparison. She already established herself with a career spanning 15 YEARS before Emancipation. Gaga had TF-TFM (2 years) and the sloppy BTW, then the complete failure ARTPOP.

Also completing a world tour doesn't set you apart from the rest, tour gross/attendance does!
As for Applause being top 10 on BB for so long, I believe that was because of radio play and not necessarily exceptional digital sales!

But yes she did score another number 1 album this year, with the help of Tony Bennett!

Not a good example I mean neither Madonna or Mariah flopped with their 3rd album/era and when they did flop they had over a decade in the business. Gaga is in nose dive and there is no denying it period.
