Do you mean "Til Death Do Us Part?" If not, I'm really interested in the meaning of this title.
That being said, I want Britney to steal Impossible Princess or The Lone Dancer. Those titles are flawless.
This cover actually slays
I've been less offended by posts wishing death on Britney
It's To Us Apart.
I wanted her to talk about the two characters she had in herself during her breakdown. After the breakdown it felt like her personality was removed and the Britney we loved, died.
Meaning Til Death To Us Apart, In order of one part of her dying, the other died with her shortly after.
(In way like the AHS episode when Bette died and Dot was hurting inside and died shortly after Bette died.)
I lowkey love all these ballads from Baby and Oops. The sextuple slayage of Born To Make You Happy - I'm So Curious - Deep In My Heart - Autumn Goodbye - Girl In the Mirror - Walk On By.
A Britney/Max Martin lead single will be her best shot at a solo hit again. Their collabs are always catchy and loved by radio.
Britney to gain new younger fans because they make these albums successes. Like teenage fans. They are the biggest music consumers/buyers. She did that with Circus and it worked. However those new fans she got with Circus have grown and are no longer the biggest music consumers. Britney's a big household name and is known by teens all over and they have heard her subconsciously on radio when they were younger, so that's a good position to be in. I think the Iggy collab and a Max Martin song would do it tbh, and with good marketing like Ozzy said. Either way, we are getting better music than we did last time, so this new era is already better

I understand your point I just don't think that her next album will sell 260k or less.
BJ flopped and it could have gotten closer to 300k if not crossed it had they released one or two more singles.
If she has a hit lead single then I think things will be fine.
No one needs to see her perform on award shows to be swayed to buy her album.
Work btch was very polarizing and more for a certain audience.
She needs a hit single that appeals to a wider audience and I think it will help.
i also don't think she has no chance of selling more than 115k first week.
She's more than capable of doing that with a hit single.
I think people don't understand the impact of aligning with Britney when she has a hit and when she has a underperforming yet iconic hit.
I really hope things are correct this next era.
Not true IMO. The industry has changed but she does have a fanbase...unfortunately many of the fanbase are pretentious and want to co sign Britney if she's aligned with a hit but not with a flop or underperformer.
It doesn't help that she doesn't try to act like she cares.
Had she put out an album in May 2013 after scream and shout I doubt she would have only sold around 115k and barely crossed 260k...
She's a pop artist and when things seem bad, people jump ship.
For instance many thought Vegas residency was the kiss of death add underperofmring iconic work btch and no substantial promo...BJ hada lot going against it.
now people see Vegas Residency as a success and not view her as a hasbeen, she doesn't need to perform at the grammy's, VMAs, AMAs but she does need to have key promo: commercials, documentary, a couple of radio, night show and daytime interviews with a hit single and video will make a difference. All this can serve as promo after the interviewers talk about the success of residency, the extension, others following her lead, her being the first of the 2000s generation as well as the first to do it while still having hits on the radio not waiting until she could no longer chart and her excitement of adding more songs to the show and taping it so prior attendees will be enticed to go as well as others holding out for other reasons.
I think we will see the difference in image and impact post Residency success vs. Pre residency doubt for success/alignment with hasbeen territory...which has been squashed.
But none of that will matter if she doesn't start off with the right song and follow through with a good album. Doesn't need to be great just good.
BJ is the first album that just doesn't feel like a Britney album.
The genius about Britney is that unlike many artist many of her best songs are not the singles.
Singles are the most commercial songs that tell the Britney story at the moment.
Outside of Baby one more time, slave, toxic her albums have had singles that were far better
Some being singles that had commercial appeal and told the britney story but for some reason were not singles:
- One kiss from you or When ur eyes say it (instead of DLMBTLTK), What u see is what you get, Lonely/cinderella/what it's like to be me as last singles, Breathe on me as 5th single, boom boom (instead of outrageous), shadow as closer single, brave new girl as promo single, heaven on earth, get naked, toy solider, perfect lover, why should i be sad, shattered glass, unusual you, how i roll? seal it with a kiss, he about to lose me, up n down, etc.
Others not having commercial appeal and telling the britney story at the moment but still better than many single choices:
-I will be there, don't go knocking on my door, where are you now?, anticipating, that's where you take me, the hookup, early mornin' blur, phonography, drop dead beautiful, trip to your heart, etc.
What you say seems great, but no one sells album without promotion. That theory you stated has been proved wrong several times. She put a documentary during Britney Jean's promotional campaign and you would probably say it was in order to promote the residency, but that residency was supposed to start around the same time as the album was dropped out. A couple of interviews? She did that too and it didn't work either. She needs to build hype, make people excited about her releasing music. She will also need to start singing live, prove people she can still sing, dancing is not that important, but she needs to show the public she still loves and care for what she does.
I've always gotten this crazy theory about Britney wanting to do stuff pretty different since Circus. She's always wanted to take routes and she's always been blocked by her label. I need the Brit who didn't care about her label back, the one who went to the radio and premiered Mona Lisa without her label's approval. We need her to take risks, to be her again.
Max martin could give her the resurgence she needs.
When has he failed her.
Not again. We need Bloodshy and Avant back.
I know Max and Britney do magic in the studio, and as long as he doesn't make her record another I Wanna Go, it'd be here for it. That said, I hope she never works with Dr. Luke and will.i.am ever again.
