Not really. Often students are placed in certain spots because the teacher said so or by name. This could be interpreted figuratively also.


Ever heard of the poverty trap? If you're born poor and your parents were poor you'll likely be poor too. Being poor allows you to not get access to many opportunities that a middle class or wealthy person will earn.

This example is an oversimplification. Also going off what you just said, my classes always seated us by alphabetical order, and then the teacher would swap us around like every new marking period. It depends on the class where you sit, but this isn't really meant to be taken as part of the example imo

This is why I post rarely on ATRL, 'cause I need to work harder to keep my GPA while juggling two part time jobs and get involved in a research project.

While the privileged ones can have more time partying cause they dont need to take jobs.

I honestly think that this theory is son of the typical American over-correctness, where you can't put on an accent because it's racist and people will put you on the same plane as the police killing an unarmed black person because of their race, where everybody rants about privilege yet there's not an affordable health care system. But of course I'm ignorant, privileged and wicked because I don't agree with you. Truly the land of the free.

No where did I infer that people should be complacent. Awareness of issues like these should always be upheld and continued, but meanwhile underpriveleged individuals shouldn't sit around and play victim. Rise above with what you have. Hopefully generations to come will have a better shot because it's doubtful anything will change relatively soon.

And don't be cheeky with me. Taking the other side doesn't mean I'm an insensitive, priveleged individual. Quite the opposite.
