I'm goggling her right now and she really was the Rihanna of ha time. Her debut sold 74k compared to Rihanna's 69k. Rihanna's second album was #49 on the year end charts and Aaliyah was #44. Both their 3rd albums were #2, Aaliyah sold 187k and Rih sold 168k. Both their 4th albums were #2 on the BBHOT100.
Rihanna truly is the Aaliyah of our time :toosad:
At that performance... I expected some slayage but we both Rihanna could sing that. It was by no means amazing she just held the note, rih can do that too.
7/11 is literally straight up ****... not even throwing shade but she must be joking? Is this even a song. It's like Phresh Out The Runway without being catchy.... it's just annoying and redundant.
Ugh. Isn't that the bony dude who claims that he's straight but lets old white men run up in him bareback?
Yes.
If wouldn't be so bad if the white guy was attractive, but he looks like a pedophile, and fetishizes black guys. Not here for him at all.
But before his switch to gay ****, he was ****ing women.. at least until that video where he was playing with himself.

And RudeBoyy **** outta here with the "neither vocalist nor dancer" nonsense. She was far better than Rihanna at both.
People want to act like she was Britney-level vocals like...1:15 on>>>
Slayliyah!
She sounds better at this age, then most of today's current pop girls have ever sounded tbh.
I would've loved to see her career trajectory... She really was just coming into her own.
The sounds she and Brandy crafted with their music is a part of what made 90's music so special.
Brandy is underrated people really downplay how significant and huge her career was. Her influence is seen in so much artists out today
She's definitely underrated.
I find in a lot of cases people don't try to downplay how successful she was, they've really just forgotten. I remember when her Behind the Music episode premiered about two years ago and so many people were like "dang, I forgot how big Brandy was!" The next day I remember hearing people sing her songs around my school's campus, and her albums skyrocketed on iTunes so she definitely still has impact.
But yeah she's super influential. So many vocalists list her as an inspiration.
For starters all you have to do is listen to a Chris Brown song to hear her influence. He stays trying to do those runs. lol
fff gotta love RudeBoyy. You know how to get the girls riled up, I'll give you that.
I'm not even sure I would disagree with someone if they said 7/11 is a bad song but idc I love it. Everyone I've played it for says its "beneath" Bey but I still think it's a bop. I enjoy it more than Ring Off and more than some of the original album. Same people calling it trash would BOP if Future (who has ZERO talent) or Juicy J delivered the same exact song.

The song is grating to me maybe because I'm wearing headphones and that damn clapping noise. I can listen to Thats Me Right there (available on iTunes) either because it hurts my damn ears. I'm not a Future fan but I agree this songs is on par with his verse on that damn tinashe song. The song just repeats over and over again but has no real chorus to latch on to. Hence redundant
