I'm pretty sure she dropped the idea of Peacock being a single by the time Firework was a hit. All the insiders back then were saying it was Last Friday Night (Capitol) v E.T. (Katy), and there's a scene in her movie where she's told UK radio is demanding Last Friday Night and she refuses to give it to them as she knows E.T. will be a hit.
E.T. and Peacock were pretty much 50/50 on Twitter, I remember despising Peacock but being really happy with the results of the twitter 'poll' thing so it can't have been that much of a clear winner.
