I'm ok with her abandoning Pop for Urban but then why work with Ryan Tedder, Sia etc... When Taylor decided to stop doing Country, she stopped working with Country producers.

I agree. I see 'I woke up like this' used all the time, even in my school, and only 2 or 3 people I speak to know where it comes from. Just that it's a 'Beyoncé thing'.

I just think Bey wanted this era to be urban. She doesn't seem to care about Pop AT ALL right now. I'm sure if she wanted a pop album, she would deliver a pop album like she did with IASF, it's not like she hasn't done it before. Since 4, she just doesn't seem to care about the pop world, she is focused on her R&B/Hiphop roots which is not surprising since her husband is a rapper, she is influenced by him and his world a lot it seems. I think next era she will switch it up because eventually she'll get bored with this trend.

yeah, i dont think she's leaving columbia. even if she's "independent," she'll need them for distribution, kinda like how madonna is independent but is still on a roster of a label ( i dont remember which)

You're too old to be saying things like this. Single success is not about money. It puts you out there, expands your audience, increases your brand, gets you the biggest endorsements. Single success is what makes you get killer endorsements 3 years into your break.
