Hm, I 100% agree with BTINH… it's an awfully generic Beyoncé song, but the only thing mainstream about RTW is the female empowerment, the sound itself was not mainstream at all.

Hmm I do agree RTW was a tad risky but it wasn't to off from mainstream I mean it isn't your traditional pop dance song but it kinda is a song you can dance to . Don't come for BTINH it is an underrated gem .!

Not a lot of mainstream stuff either.

All three had music and imagery that was from the ordinary.

Lady Gaga - Born This Way and ARTPOP
Born This Way referenced religion and other touchy topics. ARTPOP was released right when the EDM trend ended and its concept was difficult to grasp. Born This Way and ARTPOP, sonically speaking, should have switched release dates.

Christina Aguilera - Bionic
Clearly ahead of its time.

I don't get how Rated R is listed. It's by far one of the best Rihanna albums, but it was very predictable to the lead single.

She had just gone through the Chris Brown incident so everyone was expecting the album to be about that.

How is Bionic risky when it was literally made to hop on the Gaga/BEP trend ? It was just bad with very few exceptions.

And yes BTW is the riskiest by a major pop girl in the last 5 years easily. TEOG, BTW, You and I, MTN that sounds literally NOTHING like what Gaga used to make pre BTW, It sounds nothing like what was on radio etc. It's themes are risky, the music itself is risky, Gaga's image was risky, Gaga herself was risky like .. denying it just makes you look stupid and me trying to educate you just makes me feel emberrassed so yeah le me quit it.

lol it was a song you could dance to, but you could technically dance to every song. I really think it was a bigger risk than you make it out to be just because it was uptempo.

But BTINH is trash. Especially the video.
