"Style" is boring and stale when it should be sexy. "Bad Blood" is catchy but the lyrics are SO awful. "Wildest Dreams" is basic and proves Lana is irreplaceable. "Blank Space" is annoying.
Then you've got tracks like "I Know Places" and "This Love" which go up to a 7 and maybe an 8 but then lack that extra something. Won't even address garbage like "Welcome to New York" and "How You Get Herpes".
That leaves us "Shake It Off", "Out of the Woods", "Clean", "You are in Love", "All You Had to Do Was Stay" as legitimately good songs. 5 endlessly replayable, top quality tracks is standard, perhaps on the impressive side, for a mainstream pop album. But some revelation that sets her apart from the pack 1989 is not.
