Andy Warhol may be remembered as important but will the specific products of his art (referring to pop stars) be? What did they contribute to humanity.. Our time will be so interesting in the textbooks

Pop art wasn't truly about pop stars or pop culture, sigh... I cringe every time the subject is brought up on ATRL (by Madonna and Gaga stans alike). It was about art itself.
But anyways, of course pop art will always be remembered. Cubism + abstract expressionism + pop art are definitive movements; what they "contributed to humanity" is a complete shift in how art was created, disseminated, and viewed. Pop stars are dust compared to them in the long history of creative expression.
